This Week in Philadelphia (TWIP) for 3/30

Philadelphia Cleanup Day

April 5 is Philly Spring Cleanup Day, where citizens from all around the city go out and sweep and clean. Volunteering is a great way to network, and I encourage you to do it:

  • all sorts of people volunteer, and some of them probably know the people you want to know
  • you get a chance to work with each other, to know each other, in a low-pressure way
  • you do something good for the world
  • you get out of your little work-a-day rut and get some perspective on life and your troubles and goals

Some of the strongest connections I've made over the past few months have begun while I was volunteering in some way. Pick up your broom!

By the by, Wednesday is one of the busiest days I've ever seen, with 16 different events that day alone.
