This Week in Philadelphia (TWIP) for 7-20

Today is the 39th anniversary of the Moon Landing. Would I be dating myself to say that I remember a conversation with my dad when I was a small boy, looking up at the moon, and talking about how no one had ever been there? It seemed incredible that it had never been done, and it was magical when it happened just a few short years later.

I find it amusing, in a scary sort of way, that half the entries in a Google search for "moon landing" address the idea that the moon landing was a hoax. That probably says more about the nature of the Internet and the way Google serves it up to us than about the moon landing. Google is not always our friend.

There are a few things happening here on Earth this week, and very few of them are hoaxes, even though some of them are being held at secret locations. Don't believe me? Go see for yourself!
