This Week in Philadelphia (TWIP) for 8-24

While the Basecamp Business Regional Business Events Calendar (or whatever we’re calling it this week) has a few other events listed on it, the only event that struck my fancy for the Fun With Networking This Week in Philadelphia list is this:

Cabrini College -- Bagels & Business: "Notes, Quotes, & Anecdotes: Tips for Effective Leadership"
7:30am - Iadarola Center for Science, Education, & Technology

I can’t speak to this particular session, but I’ve enjoyed past sessions of the Bagels & Business program. The speakers are generally interesting and informative, and the setting is conducive to meeting people – continental breakfast, tables that put you next to four or five other people, and a mixed crowd of newcomers and regulars from all walks of life. If you can handle the early morning hours, it’s well worth it.

Looking out a few weeks, there are some events coming up that I recommend checking out. These include DreamIt Ventures Funding Day, Podcamp Philly, the Mid-Atlantic Consultants Network (which has me speaking on the panel), the Creative Connects Happy Hour, CCPA’s Lunch with the CITY's LEADERS with Clarence Armbrister, the NAWBO Philly Get to Know Us breakfast, and the Mid-Atlantic Diamond Ventures Early Fall Venture Forum.

Then there is the Indy Hall birthday party. Celebrating one year of cow-orking, or is it coworking? I can never remember whether to include the hyphen or not.

Valeria Maltoni tells me that a new Blog Philadelphia is coming soon, but the date, time, and location seem to be closely guarded secrets.
